Reprising a silver and gold-glittered final celebration of the joy in a year can be difficult. Still, becoming an annual thrill ride to kick off the holiday season has made Anthony Fett a popular Christmas-time choice for The Duplex’s audience. Frolic, fun, and happiness abound, and with Fett you get all that as well as jokes and plenty of “gay” apparel.

As he reminded us frequently, “The only thing gayer than Christmas, is me!”

From a plethora of highlights begetting raucous applause, Fett’s performance of “Where Are You Christmas?” (James Horner/Will Jennings/Mariah Carey) and his finale of the epic Streisand version of “Jingle Bells?

” (Frank Loesser) struck a more tender note. Kevin Moon Loh and Fett serenaded each other, dressed to the nines, to ring all the Christmas bells.

If that wasn’t enough, the trio of Loh, Bardier, and Fett sang “The Chipmunk Song” (“Christmas Don’t Be Late”) by David Seville to a stripper (Aneudy) in a Santa costume.

Too much or not enough? You decide. Music Director Drew Wutke kept up with the shenanigans, as did technical director, Armando Bravi.

With that, Fett kicked off the holidays and, with his curtain call, bid good night to all.
