The board and staff at the American Songbook Association and Cabaret Scenes Magazine join the theater and cabaret communities in mourning the passing of Sandi Durell on October 22 after a courageous fight with cancer. Sandi was a loved and respected writer, publisher, editor, producer, performer, and champion of talented singers and actors. For a number of years, she was a reviewer for Cabaret Scenes magazine.
Services and a celebration of life and life work will take place this Sunday, October 27 at noon at Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, 630 Amsterdam Avenue, NYC.
We will feature a comprehensive article in our next issue about Sandi’s long career and significant contributions to the arts community. For now, we grieve with so many who loved and admired her, and we send our deepest condolences to her family and close friends.
