Treble NYC
Winter Warm-Up 2017

Treble NYC is an all-female a cappella group performing in the New York area and, on a Tuesday night in December, they came to The Duplex to perform a short set of songs to warm up in between caroling gigs. Even if it was just a practice session, it was a great opportunity to see this classy group of gals perform a mix of pop songs and Christmas classics.
Rotating between lead performers, this group of ten seemed to be having the time of their lives. When they performed Maren Morris’s “My Church,” I could only sit back and agree that the selection rang true. This was certainly their church as the smiles permeated through to the crowd. When they asked us to sing along to “White Christmas” (Irving Berlin), their enthusiasm was just as infectious.
I am not sure I’ve ever seen any single performer have more fun on stage. It was a treat.
That being said, the ladies weren’t putting on a full cabaret show, so there was limited patter between songs and not a lot of rhyme or reason to the selections. Regardless, their positivity and love for one another made for an uplifting feel. It sounded like Treble is planning to do more performances like this one, and just might expand a little bit.
If so, I think it would be a fun way to get to see this talented a cappella group in action.
