Nine years ago, when the owners of The Colony in Palm Beach, Florida, were convinced to use a conveniently located storage room and convert it into a supper club/cabaret room with all the accoutrements of a first class entertainment venue, there were plenty of skeptics.

The Mabel Mercer Foundation celebrates the 25th anniversary of the New York Cabaret Convention 10/20-23 at Rose Theater. Artistic Director KT Sullivan and Managing Director Rick Meadows have gathered a roster of talent to entertain over the four nights, each with a different theme: I Love a Piano—Celebrating the Great Tradition of the Singing Pianist (10/20); Quiet Please, There’s a Lady on Stage—A Celebration of Julie Wilson’s 90th Birthday (10/21); Something Sort of Grandish—The Music of Burton Lane, The Lyrics of Yip Harburg; and Come On and Hear—The Songs of Irving Berlin (10/23).
