Sherry Eaker has announced that three-time Grammy and Tony Award Winner Dee Dee Bridgewater is the recipient of the 2026 ASCAP-Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Bridgewater is also a NEA Jazz Master, ASCAP Champion, record label founder, producer, Memphis Music Hall of Fame Inductee, educator, and activist.

It is a rare enough achievement to succeed in the world of Broadway or the world of jazz; to have displayed such mastery of both while maintaining a distinct and personal style is indeed worthy of celebration. Dee Dee Bridgewater’s iconic career shows no sign of letting up as she continues to dazzle audiences with her remarkable talent and makes even the most familiar material uniquely her own. Ms. Bridgewater remains an inspiration to generations of singers to find their own special voices as she has triumphantly found hers. It is a very special legacy indeed.
