The artist is extremely personable.

Highlights of this show included bright, swingy versions of “Like Someone in Love,” featuring Tom Hubbard’s excellent bass and Jeff Brillinger’s percussive brush work, and “I’m Beginning to See the Light,” in a similar open, infectiously happy mode.

Both featured appealing jazz modulation. The iconic “Sophisticated Lady” was skillfully phrased and effectively smooth. Two classic Piaf songs showed off perfect French and sweeping romanticism.
