JOHN M. RIZZOTTI

April 19, 1939 – November 15, 2014

Rizzotti of Cochecton Center, NY, a retired accountant for Sterling Drug Company, Manhattan, NY and former President of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was 75.

The son of the late Julius and Marie Fiore Rizzotti, he was born April 19, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY.

John was a graduate of St. John’s University. He attended Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lake Huntington, NY. He was a longtime member of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, Narrowsburg.

A family statement reads: “John was a loving and caring person who had a great appreciation for the arts. He was a big supporter of the local arts in his community. His true passion was music and was a big supporter of the Mabel Mercer Foundation in New York City. He will truly be missed by all that knew him, but especially by the ones he loved and left behind.”

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, William Hudson; his sister, Angela Beatley and her husband, Robert of Lake Huntington, NY; various cousins and many close friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18th and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19th at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St. Narrowsburg, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19th at Holy Cross Church, 9719 SR97, Callicoon NY 12723. Father Charles J. O’Connor O.F.M. will officiate. Cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory. Burial of his cremains will be in Brooklyn, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, P.O. Box 170, Narrowsburg, NY 12764, Hospice of Orange and Sullivan County, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550 or the Mabel Mercer Foundation, 160 E 48th St. # 1P, New York, NY 10017.
