Susan Winter: Susan’s Back in Town

Susan Winter is a thoroughbred.

She is still at the top of her game.

If this show was an over-stuffed banquet, at least each serving was tasty.

We could luxuriate in the rich warm resonance of LuPone’s voice, which was astounding in both her trademark power belt and her fine head voice.

This is an artist who exudes ardor without overstating it and sass without seeming corny.

What a voice. What a show.

Williams offered a truly original program to which she brought a freshness and a sense of discovery.

A charmed evening.

A stunningly entertaining blast from the past.

She delivers her lyrics with both assurance and clarity.
