ON THE TOWN

  • Set in wartime 1944, On the Town chronicles the adventures of three sailors on a 24-hour shore leave in New York City. Their fabulous day-long journey is spurred by a search for sailor Gabey’s dream girl, ‘Miss Turnstiles.’ Along the way, each sailor falls in love with a woman, and with New York City itself.

HONEYMOON IN VEGAS

  • Based on the classic 1992 film comedy, Honeymoon In Vegas tells the story of commitment-phobe Jack Singer, his not-so-patient girlfriend Betsy, and a professional gambler named Tommy Korman who hasn’t gotten over his wife’s death. It’s also the story of a Hawaiian show-tune queen, a Las Vegas icon, a guy named Foccaccia and a team of flying Elvises.

  • A struggling Broadway producer tries to get a former lover, now a Hollywood star, to sign a contract to star in his latest (and as yet un-conceived) play as they travel on the luxury train Twentieth Century Limited from Chicago to New York.

  • Hoping to start a new life, World War II veteran Jerry Mulligan chooses newly-liberated Paris as the place to make a name for himself as a painter. But Jerry’s life becomes complicated when he meets Lise, a young Parisian shop girl with her own secret – and realizes he is not her only suitor. A classic American film about young souls in Paris is re-imagined for the Broadway stage.

FINDING NEVERLAND

  • M. Barrie’s last play was an abysmal failure and his career is threatened by crippling writers block. But then a chance meeting in a London park with a woman and her spirited young boys provides just the inspiration he needs.

FUN HOME

Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the family’s Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father’s hidden desires.

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM

  • Pseudolus, a slave in ancient Rome, goes to great lengths to gain his freedom by securing a courtesan for his young master, Hero. A revival of the classic musical.

Tony winner James Corden was expected to star in this Broadway revival, as first reported by the New York Times. Alex Timbers will direct. In August Corden emerged as the likely successor to Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show, meaning he will likely pull out of this revival. The New York Post reports that producers are pushing forward and looking for a new star.

BULL DURHAM

  • Cast: John Behlmann, Melissa Errico, Will Swenson
  • Veteran catcher ‘Crash’ Davis (Swenson) has been brought to the Durham Bulls to prepare rookie Ebby Calvin “Nuke” LaLoosh (Behlmann), a hot rod pitcher with a ‘million dollar arm and a five cent head,’ for the majors. With who will Annie Savoy (Errico), self-appointed high priestess and muse of the Bulls, share her wisdom, experience and bed?
  • Book writer Ron Shelton (adapting his own screenplay) has said the show hopes to transfer to Broadway in the spring of 2015 if a September world premiere run at Alliance Theatre goes well.

DAMES AT SEA

  • Ruby steps off a bus from Utah and into her first Broadway show, but hours before the opening night curtain is to rise, the cast learns their theater is being demolished. So Ruby and the cast, with the help of some adoring sailors, set a plan in motion to perform the show on a naval battleship. Dames at Sea premiered off-Broadway in 1968 and ran for 575 performances – this would be its first-ever Broadway production.

GIGI

  • A young French girl being groomed for the life of a courtesan attracts the attention of an older playboy whom she had always considered a friend, in Lerner and Loewe’s stage adaptation of their 1958 film musical, based on Colette’s novel. This production is a re-envisioned adaptation by Heidi Thomas.
  • Schaeffer’s production will premiere at the Kennedy Center in January 2015. It is aiming for a Broadway bow later in 2015.

KING KONG

  • A musical adaptation of Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace’s novella.

King Kong had its world premiere at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne, Australia. In January 2014, producer Gerry Ryan confirmed in a radio interview that the production was aiming for a December opening at the Foxwoods Theatre. However, these plans later changed, and the show is now rumored for an early 2015 bow at a different theater.
