Patricia Fitzpatrick presents her 10th anniversary production
of Provincetown CabaretFest June 3-9, 2024
Provincetown, MA
This year’s theme is The Golden Era of Nightclubs. In addition to presenting numerous workshops and master classes by many highly accomplished cabaret artists, Fitzpatrick is bringing in local and national cabaret artists who will perform throughout the week. The first part of the festival will be held at Gabriel’s Guesthouse beginning with Charles Evans who proclaims I Left My Heart at Carnegie Hall: A Tribute to Tony Bennett’s 1962 Concert 6/4. Also that day, Francis Garner offers Miss Otis Regrets with pianist Andy Lantz. On 6/5, Lisa Kantor presents Do Nothing ‘Til You Hear from Me! with pianist Tom LaMark, and Lynn Flickinger offers A Search for Self accompanied by pianist Tracy Stark. On 6/6, Lynda D’Amour is One Cool Cat as she sings the Sammy Davis, Jr. Songbook, with pianist Tracy Stark. She’s followed by Vivienne La Barbera who is Starr Struck with Kay Starr!
The rest of the festival continues at the Crown & Anchor as David Rhodes presents Soir Noir: A Nightclub Confidential 6/6 with special guest Jake Oswell and MD Tracy Stark. Also that day, the winner of last year’s CabaretFest Provincetown Lifetime Achievement Award Warren Schein presents Moon Over Miami with the Tom LaMark Orchestra. On 6/7, Brian De Lorenzo presents Sammy and Sinatra at the Sands with MD Tom LaMark, followed by Pamela Enders who shouts How Glad I Am! A Tribute to Nancy Wilson, also with LaMark. The evening ends with a CabaretFest tradition, a lineup of all the festival performers with each one taking a turn in the spotlight in Viva Las Vegas! On 6/8, Karen Mack and Elliot Roth perform Live at the Sands, followed by Michael Garin & Mardie Millet, who take us From the Borscht Belt to 8th Avenue. The Saturday Night Gala begins with The Angela Bacari Show, where this year’s CabaretFest Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Angela Bacari is joined by an array of special guests who will help her celebrate her award-winning evening with MD Tom LaMark and the Tom LaMark band. It is fitting that, because Bacari was the opening act for Rodney Dangerfield during the golden era of nightclubs in Las Vegas, musical comedian Roderick Ferguson will open for her. Closing out the festival is the cabaret dynamic duo Nicolas King and Seth Sikes in New York, New York! Winding down the festival on Sunday morning 5/9 is another CabaretFest tradition, the Sunday Brunch in the Crown & Anchor’s Paramount Room, where jazz stylist Steve Blackwood serenades the festival goers and participants; Michael Garin is at the piano. Nicolas King will be on hand to present the Mike Renzi Spotlight Award to one of the festival’s Spotlight performers.
