![]() It doesn’t matter what your religious persuasion ‘cause these guys will have you clappin’, rockin’ and rollin’ as they raise musical Hell staying on the edgy side of Heaven. This show is for “the Gentiles in all of us. L’Chaim.” The Fabulous Pink Flamingos made their debut in 2004 with a show entitled Last Call at the XMAS Lounge and in 2006 were awarded the Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocal Group, as well as a nomination for a Night Life Award for Songs from the Lu’au Lounge (also a CD released in 2007 on PlanetMonk Records). This latest show, from the song “Revival” (Sam Harris) to “Satan’s Lil’ Lamb” (Arlen/Harburg/Mercer) to Billy Joel’s “The River of Dreams” and upward with “Operator” (William Spivery) . . . “Information? Give me Jesus on the line” to Ray Charles/Jon Hendricks “Ray’s Rockhouse,” is one heck of a prayer meetin’! Other songs that will lead you up the path of righteousness include: “Sing You Sinners” (Coslow/Harling),”Clap Yo’ Hands”(Gershwins), “Ain’t It The Truth” (Arlen/Harburg) and “Holy Rollin’”(Bryan Duncan). Interspersed with solo performances, with the other guys doing backups and authentic '50s moves, everyone lines up to testify! Clever, funny, corny, nostalgic 50’s throwback…call them whatever you want. You’ll laugh, applaud, cheer and keep coming back for more. This Fall there’s another Fabulous Pink Flamingos show on the horizon ready to raise some more hair and eyebrows - “Absolutely Weill!” This act should be heading for Vegas and cruise ships shortly! The Fabulous Pink Flamingos appears at the Metropolitan Room Sundays in June at 9:30 p.m. You really don’t want to miss all this fun. Sandi Durell |
