Remembering Marlene VerPlanck

November 11, 1933 – January 14, 2018

January 15, 2018

The cabaret/jazz world has lost one of its shining lights. Marlene VerPlanck passed away yesterday. She graced the airwaves and recordings with her signature smooth style, recorded demos for Frank Loesser, did commercials for Campbell Soup and many others, and sang backup for everyone from Frank Sinatra to Kiss. She traveled all over the world, bringing her jazz sensibility to her many fans.

Here is the article, written by Peter Haas, which appeared in the July/August 2005 issue of Cabaret Scenes.
