Bay Area Cabaret is excited to present the San Francisco concert debut of Tony and Grammy Award winner Leslie Odom, Jr.—direct from an unprecedented sold-out run as Aaron Burr in the blockbuster hit musical, Hamilton, and his Tony win for Best Leading Actor in a Musical.

Mr. Odom, Jr. originated the role of Burr in the sold-out Off Broadway run at The Public Theatre in 2015, earning both Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award nominations. He made his Broadway debut at the age of 17 in Rent before heading to Carnegie Mellon University’s prestigious School of Drama, where he graduated with honors and became a protegé of Tony winner and Bay Area Cabaret artist Billy Porter. Additional Broadway credits include Leap of Faith, for which he won the 2012 Astaire Award for Outstanding Male Dancer on Broadway and was nominated for a Drama League Award.

On television, Odom, Jr. is best-known for his portrayal of Sam Strickland in the NBC musical series, Smash, and his recurring role as Reverend Curtis Scott on Law & Order: SVU. He also starred in the 2012 film, Red Tails, opposite Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and David Oyelowo.

For this special Bay Area Cabaret event, Leslie Odom, Jr. celebrates the release of his first solo album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Jazz chart. On the album, he honors some of his biggest musical inspirations—Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald. Now he honors them in the room they made famous—the “room where it happens”—the Venetian Room.
