John DiPinto and Mary Foster Conklin perform on fire escapes as The Man in the Hat and The Lady in the Red Dress with the Renegade Cabaret; now they bring the act back indoors to the Zinc Bar. John will play accordion and piano when the mood strikes him, and there may be a uke tune or two. They’ll be doing some newer tunes by Smokey Robinson and Mark Winkler, among others, plus some of their favorite cool arrangements of The Beatles, Bacharach & David, The Foo Fighters, Fran Landesman, and more. Good music and a good time will be had by all!
“Their jazzy, eclectic act has a comfortable, languid, kick-back-with-a-cocktail-and- enjoy feel—a soothing show for a sultry summer night.” — Cabaret Scenes
“A wonderfully unclassifiable show” — The New Republic
“They’ve tried out their material at the Renegade Cabaret above the Highline, to evident approval from the passing parade, and now they bring themselves indoors to see what happens. Plenty should.” — The Village Voice
