Storm Large is a musician, actor, playwright, and author who gained national notoriety in 2006 as a finalist on the CBS show Rock Star: Supernova. In 2007 Large took a career departure starring in the Portland Center Stage production of Cabaret, earning her rave reviews. She returned to the stage in 2009 in a 21-week sold-out run of her autobiographical musical Crazy Enough, which is based on her memoir of the same title released by Simon and Schuster in 2012, named Oprah’s Book of the Week and awarded the 2013 Oregon Book Award for Creative Nonfiction.

Large made her debut as guest vocalist  with the band Pink Martini in April 2011 singing four sold-out concerts  with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. She continues to perform with the band, touring nationally and internationally, and was featured on their CD Get Happy. Large has also sung with Grammy winner k.d. lang, pianist Kiril Gerstein, singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer George Clinton.

In late 2014, Large and her band, Le Bonheur, released a recording designed to capture their sublime and subversive interpretations of the American Songbook. Simply called Le Bonheur and released on Pink Martini’s Heinz Records, it is a collection of tortured and titillating love songs: beautiful, familiar, yet unique, much like the lady herself.

Large returns to Feinstein’s at the Nikko after a sold-out run last year with her all new show Taken by Storm. Be swept away by the voice, beauty and visceral talent of this artist who truly lives up to her name.

Storm Large continues at Feinstein’s May 29 & 30.
