Nobody does the holidays like Foiled Again. This year (their 15th annual) will be no exception. A hip, fresh (sometimes irreverent) look at some holiday classics and an introduction to some soon-to-be classics, the evening includes music by Joan Osborne, Irving Berlin, Joni Mitchell, k.d. lang, Randy Newman, local songwriter Cheri Coons, and The Dixie Chicks – interwoven with amazingly intricate arrangements of carols and holiday tunes. Foiled Again takes the stage the first three Saturdays in December with an evening that will have you laughing, singing along, and help you beat those winter blues. This is also a chance for you to hear tracks from their brand new album Blanket of Winter (now on sale). Come see why Cabaret Hotline Online said they’re “like the Andrews Sisters . . .. but sexier.” Each Saturday will feature special guest stars, just like your favorite holiday variety shows used to. December 6th features the cabaret/jazz duo Beckie Menzie and Tom Michael. December 13th Foiled Again welcomes the brassy Meghan “Big Red” Murphy with her soulful holiday stylings. Finally, on December 20th we will light the menorah with our dear friend and favorite parody-writer Miriam Plotkin with some hilarious Hanukkah tunes. Each show promises to be fun and different from the last. A portion of each evening’s profits will go to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Foiled Again has been singing together for years, performing to sold-out rooms at Evanston: SPACE, Davenport’s Piano Bar + Cabaret, The Chicago Cultural Center, The Chicago Humanities Festival, Maxim’s, Noble Fool Cabaret, Theatre Building Chicago, The Drake Hotel, and the Acorn Theater.
