The Mabel Mercer Foundation celebrates the 25th anniversary of the New York Cabaret Convention 10/20-23 at Rose Theater. Artistic Director KT Sullivan and Managing Director Rick Meadows have gathered a roster of talent to entertain over the four nights, each with a different theme: I Love a Piano—Celebrating the Great Tradition of the Singing Pianist (10/20); Quiet Please, There’s a Lady on Stage—A Celebration of Julie Wilson’s 90th Birthday (10/21); Something Sort of Grandish—The Music of Burton Lane, The Lyrics of Yip Harburg; and Come On and Hear—The Songs of Irving Berlin (10/23). Singer-songwriter Tim Di Pasqua returns to Don’t Tell Mama with a new show 9/3 and promises to includes selections from his upcoming musical, An Apartment on the Upper West Side. He’s joined by bassist Matt Scharfglass. Steven Brinberg is Simply Barbra 9/6. Speaking of returns, after a 10-year hiatus, Georga Osborne is Back 9/19, 27 & 10/12. Joyce Breach presents Moments Like This Mondays in October. Pianist Mike Renzi and bassist Jay Leonhart help her celebrate the release of her latest CD. (She’s also at Jazz at Kitano 10/24.) Richard Holbrook taps into The Untapped Fred Astaire Revisited 10/19 & 26. Frank Torren reprises Moment to Moment 10/26 & 29.

Sandra Bargman and Ian Herman present The Edge of Everyday at The Duplex 9/12, directed by Shawn Moniger. Jeremy Abram makes his Duplex debut with Out of the Game 9/15 & 21. The Rescignos:The 30th Anniversary Special is back 9/19. Celebrating all things Italian are Tara Merdjanoff, Jeremy Bohenand Jon Delfin in The Merdjanoff Columbus Day Spectacular 10/2. Jim Speake Sings Cy Coleman 10/11 & 19. Songwriter Patrick Dwyer celebrates his Thirty-Whatever birthday 10/12 & 13. The Revolution, starring Kathleen France & Dawn Derow, arrives 10/20 & 28. Sarah Kimball gets in the Halloween spirit 10/23, 25 & 29 with Demon Lover &Songs of Other Dimensions. Rick Jensen is M.D. and Sean Harkness is on guitar. Another marking a birthday is Rachel Winell in Milestones 10/26.

Broadway isn’t the only place you can hear Carole King’s songs live. Head to the Metropolitan Room 9/7 for Laurie Krauz & The Daryl Kojak Octet’s critically acclaimed Tapestry Rewoven. Bobbie Horowitz  Strikes Accord 9/9, 29 & 10/16. Susan Winter is A Woman for All Seasons 9/21 & 10/7. She and Deb Berman continue to host Open Mic @ the Met the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Other ongoing series: This Is Your Night! 9/8 (honoring Kitty Skrobela) and 10/27 (honoring Joseph Macchia); Dana Lorge’s Variety Show 9/12 & 10/10; The Q with Joseph John 9/12 & 10/10; Bernie’s Sing Your Heart Out Talent Showcase 9/17 & 10/23; Marieann Meringolo 9/19 & 10/18; and Annie Ross every Tuesday. It’s By Request—New York Moments with Corinna Sowers-Adler 9/27. London-based Harold Sanditen will be Flyin’ High 10/6. Dorothy Bishop returns with her den of divas 9/24 & 10/3. “Down Under Diva” Ali Harper is back at the venue 10/24. Melba Moore’s Annual Birthday Celebration is 10/27.

Cabaret Hotline Online holds its 24th anniversary at the Laurie Beechman Theatre 9/17. Major Scales present Minor Breakdown 9/23, an evening of original songs not quite ready for Broadway. KT Sullivan & Jeff Harnar return to the venue with their Sondheim show 10/19. Ben D continues to host Broadway Sessions every Thursday and Le Scandal Cabaret is there each Saturday.

Ute Lemper is at 54 below for five shows starting 9/2. Christine Ebersole, who’s no stranger to the cabaret stage, is there 9/8, 10-13, 17, 18 & 20. Phil Bond’s Sondheim Unplugged is back 9/21 & 10/26 and his Simply Streisand is 10/19. Both shows welcome different casts paying tribute to these two icons. Tony DeSare stops by for five shows beginning 9/30. Quinn Lemley offers up A Celebration of Rita Hayworth 10/9. You’ll have Some Enchanted Evening with husband and wife Amanda McBroom and George Ball 10/8 & 14 as they present Love Songs for Grownups. George has recently released his debut CD, Think of Me. Carole J. Bufford launches a new show, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, 10/23. Closing out October is Jeremy Jordan who is Breaking Character 10/27-31.

Barbara Carroll continues to make Birdland her home every Saturday, as does Jane Monheit, who is there most Sundays, and Jim Caruso’s Cast Party has been a mainstay on Mondays. Marilyn Maye sets up shop for five shows starting 9/9. It’s An Evening of Songs benefiting the Art Attack Foundation with Chita Rivera, Rosie O’Donnell, BD Wong, Telly Leung, Christopher Jackson, Anika Larsen, Jim Caruso, Marcy Heisler & Zina Goldrich and more 9/15. (Chita’s Back 10/7-11.) Broadway at Birdland presents Jamie deRoy and friendsJoy Behar, Stephanie J. Block, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Chad Kimball, Bryce Pinkham, Haley Swinday—9/22. Proceeds benefit the Actors Fund. Miss Coco Peru asks Have You Heard? 10/7-9.

Justin Vivian Bond returns to Joe’s Pub with a new show, The Drift, 9/11, 12, 18, 19; 10/2 & 3. The Meeting* with Justin Sayre is there 9/14 & 10/19. The Part of Our World:2014 Howard Ashman Award &Cabaret is 9/29 benefiting GMHC and featuring Broadway performers singing selections from the lyricist’s catalogue. Expect to hear songs from Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid, as well as other lesser-known gems from Smile. Betty Buckley celebrates the release of her new CD, Ghostlight, with two shows 10/9.

59E59 welcomes back London’s Barb Jungr 10/28-31. Eric Comstock continues his weekly Tuesday night gig at Cafe Noctambulo at Pangea. He and Barbara Fasano are at Café Sabarsky 10/30. Sarah Rice and Craig Pomranz have moved their open mic, Broadway at the West End, to Monday nights at—where else?—the West End Lounge. The Parks Concert Series at Tudor City ends its season 9/10 (rain date 9/11).

MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) continues its Roving Open Mic series 9/30 at The Duplex. Jeff Harnar hosts. Shaynee Rainbolt takes on the hosting duties when the series roves over to Sophie’s Broadway 10/28. MAC offers seminars throughout the fall at Studio 353 from noon to 3 pm.
