brian de lorenzoBrian De Lorenzo returns to the Standing Room Only Concert Series, 100 Years of Broadway, with A Valentine Concert: The Great American Songbook, Act II, as a fundraiser for New England Light Opera 2/14 at the Wakefield Unitarian Church, Wakefield, MA. He joins Jean Danton, Laura Smith and NELO artistic director Mark Morgan, who is also producing the series. Back on the boards, De Lorenzo is featured as Dr.Fine/Dr.Madden in a production of Next to Normal at the Nextdoor Theater, Winchester, MA 1/10-26.

Mary Crowe and the Lincoln Hill Trio (Ev Harris, John Althouse, Earle Pughe) will perform 1/25 at Nourish in Lexington, MA. On 2/14, JM Productions (John McDonald) will present North Shore Acapella in I Only Have Eyes For You, a special Valentine’s Day show, at The Common Market Restaurant, Quincy, MA.

Scullers Jazz Club in Boston sparks some flame this winter beginning with ManhattanJanis+Siegel+Janis_Siegel_3 Transfer’s Janis Siegel 1/9. On 1/14, they offer up unique vocalist and composer Nicky Schrire, who is releasing her CD, Space and Time, showcasing her vocal range and style, while maintaining a sense of intimacy. It is always a pleasure to see cabaret performer Michael Ricca return to Scullers, this time with his new show, Still That Boy, a whimsical and poignant tribute to looking back and looking forward. That’s 1/15. And finally, sultry jazz vocalist Tracy Clark will grace the club 1/28.

Helping the midwinter thaw, The Celebrity Series of Boston will warm things up 1/23 with glorious Brian Stokes Mitchell at Sanders Theatre, Cambridge, MA.
